courtesy of Antonio Ruiz - clear and bright pale golden colour, nice white foam and a correct lace; insignificant flowery nose with notes of paperboard, medium-bodied and quite sweet; a late tartness but quite oily palate; a grassy and carton-like finish achieves to qualify it as modest

Botella. Clear golden colour. Mild malty and hoppish grainy aroma. Ok mouthfeel. The flavour has a mild maltiness with a mild dry bitterness and some grains.

Biggish white head. Yellow body. Strawy toffee aroma with hints of rubber and shoe leather. Dry (and faintly acidic) papery strawy taste with grassy notes. Mid-bodied. Dry papery resiny aftertaste with rubbery notes. Quite a decent industrial, really. (0.33l, wine monopoly.)

Flaske 0,33 l fra Vinmonopolet. Lys gylden farge. Høyt kremaktig skum som varte noen minutter. Sterk aroma av søtlig malt. Smaken er også søt malt med en svak bitter avslutning. Tørr ettersmak. KI=5

Bottle bought @ local Mitra. Blonde. Grainy aroma with some grassy and nutty notes. Full bodied. Grainy nutty flavor with vegetable notes. Walnut bitterness in the aftertaste. Drinkable in an emergency situation.

Bottled. A golden beer with an orangey head. The aroma has notes of straw as well as light notes of cardboard. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and straw as well as lighter notes of cardboard. Drinkable, but not exciting.

Sampled at the first annual Medicine Hat Beer Festival. The volunteer (distributor?) said that this brew came about by accident when the brewing chemist (?) noticed that they had accidentally "split the gluten molecule" in a brewing mishap. Yeah, I hate it when that happens. Anyhoo... this looks like the regular Estrella. Aroma of grainy malts and some grassy hops. Notably, there is no apple-juice aroma that I’ve come to expect from all gluten-free beers. Flavour is much the same: clean grains, low grassy hops. For a gluten-free beer, this is about the beeriest I’ve had. If I’m ever stricken with celiac disease, this is the beer I’d buy (along with Scott’s Pale Ale from NZ).
