Aroma is sweet yet spicy with some hops present. Taste is hoppy spicey and bready (malty). Very crisp with a little hop bitterness at the end of the taste. Good stuff. veryhoppyman (1), USA does not count | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 24, 2009 spicy and nice good aroma and taste very nice!!!!! hoppy holiday FunkyBrewster (505), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 24, 2009 Had a bomber and the 12 oz bottle I’m drinking here. Huge difference as the bomber was fresh and much hoppier. Pours a glowing ruby brown with a creamy light tan head. Aroma of fig and dark fruit, a bit cake like in the sweetness, this 12 oz bottle is a bit oxidized in the hops which have been muddled by the malt. Flavor starts sweet, mellow, a bit doughy, nice dark fruit, some spices, not at all citric like the bomber I had. Medium creamy body and a light fizzy carbonation. This is like two different beers, amazing. I’m actually warming to this older one, very english tasting. Both are pretty good though. Nisse666 (458), Göteborg, Sweden

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 24, 2009 2009 bomber. Hazy orange with a light off-white head. Fruity nose - grape, apple, maybe some pine, too. Flavors are sweet toffee malt and lightly spices, with a medium crispy/grassy hop note. Smooth palate and nice body. A pleasant Christmas ale - malty, but balanced well to the hops. Pawola22 (781), Kansas City, Missouri, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 24, 2009 22oz bottle. Pours a crystal clear, very pretty copper colored body with a firm, tan, inch thick head that dissipates slowly and leaves lots of lacing that remains for the entire session. Aroma is a nice mix of light caramels, spices, a bit of citrus, and a good amount of grassy hops. Flavor is the same with maybe a bit of a toffee flavor creeping its way in. Finishes rich, spicy, and crisp with a light grassy bitterness. Moderate length aftertaste after a smooth, light to medium body, and moderate carbonation. Overall, a great all-around holiday ale. Lightly sweetened malts, some citrus, spices, and balanced bitterness make this quite enjoyable. Solid. Beautiful dark brown appearance and a good aroma of hops. Lags some aftertaste besides the obvious taste of hops and malts.
