| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 27, 2009 Cloudy orange, thin beige head. Ripe fruit aroma with some tartness, honey, and clove. Taste is not overly sweet or bold but is mild and smooth with peach and pear notes. Maybe this bottle has some pretty good age on it. dutch23mp (170), Mount Prospect, Illinois, USA

Taste is close to an abby style with hint of citrus a bit heavy on the spices for my taste. drpimento (876), La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 21, 2009 Lovely beer. Tasty too. Poured with a grand foamy, frothy off white head and great lace. Color is a medium amber. Aroma is very yeasty, malty, a little hop, and a bit vineous. Flav’s the same but more full. Very good body and carbonation. Satisfying. Don’t pick up much on the alcohol. Nicely balanced. Finish is good. Kind of on the border between a drinkable beer and a special. I’d imagine that would be ideal from the brewer’s perspective. Whatever. stobbe74 (714), Denmark

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 13, 2009 Nice golden orange pour with beautiful off white head. Complex aroma and flavor of tropical fruits and spice with a bit of wild flower honey. Was put off a bit by a rather distinct flavor of burnt transmission fluid. Need to try again in another setting. sm89walt (467), Norwich, Norfolk, England

Lots of initial sweetness, caramel and fruit with yeastiness and a dry spicy finish with some light herby bitterness. Nice golden coloured body with a copper tint, orange highlights and almost no head at all. Aroma of honey, yeast, curacao, resin, pine and a touch of hops. Full-bodied; Strong chewy body of yeast, curacao and a good set of spices, including coriander seed and maybe a touch of acetone - odd. Aftertaste is a bit refined, only spruce and yeast coming through with a touch of honey and a light sweetness. Overall, a pretty decent beer - but nothing amazing. Shows well, but I prefer many more belgies to this one - a ton from Belgium and a bunch from the States too. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Chevy Chase Wine & Spirits in Washington, DC on 25-July-2009 sampled at home in Washington on 10-December-2009.
