needs more leafy-hops and less burnt-malt IMO. bartle (4), Toronto, Ontario, Canada does not count | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 19, 2009 This poured black and oil like. Mocha/toffee cream head, thick and frothy.
The aroma was of chocolate soaked in brandy. Very sweet, a good malt backbone, nice roasted hints bringing out coffee tones spiked with milk.
The oak really brought out many vanilla and caramel tones along with strong espresso, dark cocoa, ripe red plums and bruised pears.
The mouthfeel was creamy, smooth. Very warming, a nice carbonation, yet seemed a little heavy.
Creamy and chewy. This is one beautiful beer. beergodd1 (20), Conneaut, Ohio, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 13, 2009 Black pour, tan head. Big vanilla oak aroma right off, then lots of citrus hops and caramel, The Oak aging definitely smooths it out with a Vanilla cream. Clean hoppy flavor, soft milk chocolate and caramel, port-like vanilla sweetness. Lingering citrus hop finish.
Couldn’t drink all night, but nice bomber would be perfect. Scauca (413), Lovere, Italy
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 9, 2009 Pit black with a huge creamy lasting beige head. Aroma is piny, choco, vanilla. Medium to fat bodied, not that silky nor creamy, but quite harsh instead. Strong malt & hop bitterness, again chocolate and vanilla, especially as it warms in the glass.
I wonder if any could drink a whole bottle on his own...nevertheless an interesting experience. Tamed. yobdoog (1504), Woodridge NY, New York, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 8, 2009 Jet black color with a dark brown espresso fluffy head. Aroma has a lot of coffee, roasted malts, molasses and nuts. Flavor is sweet, caramel, toast, chocolate, coffee and roasted malts. Thick body, smooth and creamy. A bit too bitter on the finish for me between the hops and burnt coffee. kienled (3), Colorado, USA does not count | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Dec 7, 2009 Pours black with dark tan foam. The intense hops and malt character are almost overwhelming at first sip. The malts give it a burnt toffee flavor, countered by the bitter hops. It is very sweet, with a creamy texture and a long finish. A great stout. SpencerDB (99), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 3, 2009 Tasted this the day after the original Yeti. Poured about the same... pitch black with a thick caramel head. Left awesome lacing all the way down. Aroma of hops, roasted malts, vanilla bean, and coffee. Aroma was similar to the yeti but with less hops, but the taste just exploded. Man from the first couple sips I was just enthralled in this beer. Its smooth and refreshing and delicious and everything I want in a stout. The complex taste and smoother finish than the original make me like this one more. Great beer. curly (650), Nashville, Tennessee, USA

Taste is a perfect balance of sweet milk chocolate and bitter mocha/coffee/dark chocolate mixed with a smooth creamy texture.
