Tap @ The Dutch Bockbier Festival, 2009.
Pours nice clear chestnut with a big, frothy, off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, light chocolate, brewing cereal. Medium carbonation, okay mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet, light metal, caramel, raisins, soft chocolate, light cocoa and some coffee in the finish.

On tap (PINT BOKBIERF. 09):Clear, deep amber coloured with ruby sparks and a big beige head, that slowly collapses; moderate dark-malty, caramelly nose with a tinge of molasses; moderate, quite dry bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied; increasing dryness in the bitter-sweet finish, a tinge of molasses included. Pleasant..........

Hardly any smell and it looks like a bok, so nothing special about that. But it’s nice and warming and very tasteful. Hints of coffee and darkred fruit, lot of ’winter’ tastes. Also heavy.

Bottle 30cl. @ home.
Clear medium red brown color with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is bread, roasted, caramel, burnt sugar, light alcohol. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long to average duration, peppery - spicy finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090915]

A brown colored beer, with a thick beige head. The aroma of some caramel, with malts and some fruits. The taste of a little sour with caramel. There is some fruit, spicey and a little bitter. The aftertaste of bitter vegetables.

Medium, but dense beige head over near-black beer with accajou shine. Rather rich caramel & malt nose, dry dark malts, maltbread. Point of vomit (sorry), and green leaves. Dry roasted and slightly bitterish malts. Completely a Dunkler Bock German style - and not a bad one, at that. Bread, and a very slight oxydation. Very slick, medium to well-bodied, porridge-like texture. Not a bad Bock, paying tribute to its German origins.
