Commercial Description:
The grandfather of weizen beers, this full-bodied ale is made with 45% wheat, which contributes a slightly fruity, malt flavor. Flavor is dominated by the bready malt character and the expected banana and clove flavors from the yeast.

(On tap in Lancaster) Wheaty, rich,a bit sweet and a bit sour, very fruity without being too estery. A totally different category from the indescribably awful Hefeweizen brewed by this same brewery. Enjoyable, and moderately complex.

Draft at Wilmington location. Poured deep brown in color with a beige head. Aroma was fruity and sweet. Taste of fruity esters, banana bread, cloves, and mild spices. It was pretty average but certainly not a bad beer.

Draft at the Wilmington location listed as Irontinus weizonbock: Dark brown in color, with a decent head. Aroma was a sweet sugar malt smell. Taste was light, smooth, sweet brown sugar, hint of banana and a nice touch of hops. Over all very good. I would go back just to have another!

Draft, at Iron Hill Media. Poured cloudy deep brown, with a moderate sized tan head. Beautiful aroma, with smoke, wheat, citrus and spice. Complex flavor, with wheat, bready malt, banana, clove, orange, ans smoke. Fairly full bodied. Great beer.

Iron Hill Hercules at North Wales. Dark brown body with a light haze and spritzy, root beer quality to the head. Prominent notes of chocolate, banana bread, and clove. Makes me think of chocolate wheat malt. Has an additional note of raisins. Notable residual sweetness. Solid, full-flavored and interesting weizen bock.
