Tripplebrew (300), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA Nov 1, 2008 Pours a semicloudy honey yellow with light white head. Aroma is honey and sugared malts. Flavor is caramel sugar with vanilla and champagne. Body is light bug creamy with high carbonation. Not a remarkable tripel but definitely something I could drink on a night off. WisconsinBeer (361), St Paul, Minnesota, USA Nov 1, 2008 Bottle. Pale yellow color, not much carbonation. Flavor is bready and a bit yeasty, with some notes of ripe fruits. Candi sugar plays a role, but it’s not overly sweet. Finish is a bit dry, with alcohol notes at the back of the throat. Pretty straightforward, nothing amazing, but drinkable. biznizness (717), Mooresville, North Carolina, USA Oct 31, 2008 I really liked this, even if it wasn’t exactly what I think of for a tripel. Had fruity tartness to it, a little dry like champagne. Enjoyable. I got this on sale at Sam’s in Durham, wish I had picked up another bottle. illinismitty (1476), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Oct 12, 2008 Draft at Radio Maria in Champaign, IL. Pours a hazy golden with a white head. A tad thin for a trupil. Wheaty aroma with notes of peach and pear. Flavor of Belgian wheat malts, pear, and candy sugar. There is lots of residual sweetness, and is not as spicy and dry as staple examples of the style. Alcohol hidden well. I am not a huge fan of Triples, but I enjoyed this one Rciesla (1136), Brick City, New Jersey, USA Sep 30, 2008 Growler fill from New Beer. Etoh predominates this beer. Taste is spices with strong etoh coming through strong in the taste. A strong sweet candi malt with honey and dry pilsner malt. Fruit cantelope peach come across but a bit astringent due to the strong alcohol presence. not for me.
