Aroma was sweet with notes of caramel malts. Flavor was more grainy, but the caramel malts were still present. The body was a bit light. fobar (64), Søgne, Norway

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Nov 7, 2009 Pours with almost no head, and what does exist disappears very quickly. Smells like coffee and water, maybe some grape juice in there too. Taste is coffee, coffee, coffee - very surprising for this brew, but it lacks complexity and feels a little bit fake. On the other hand, there are worse flavours to imitate and it’s an okay "fake" dark beer. Worth trying if you can get it for free. blackbock (35), Australia
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Oct 31, 2009 (bottle) Poured perfectly, a deep ruby-brown colour with ample head.
For a beer of only 3.8% alc/vol this one had plenty of body. There was a definite roastiness present, and the hopping was spot on. This is one I could come back to many times if available. rakkasan (76), Bresso, Italy
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 23, 2009 on tap - Prague. My beer of preference during my stay in Prague. Dark ruby color, nice head. Sweet caramel taste, light body, refreshing. I found this to be an excellent session beer given the alcohol content and light - medium body. austone (1039), Turku; Pori, Finland
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 21, 2009 Canned. Dark ruby brown, medium-sized off-white head. Toasted rye bread aroma, little salmiak. Flavor has slight licorice, sweet roasty rye bread, molasses, slight coal and metal in the finish. Light to medium bodied, a tad coarse carbonation, some sugariness on the palate. I hate the saccharine, but have to admit that this is still pretty alright flavourwise.
