Commercial Description:
This Special Ale is, in reality, a reconstructed exhumation of the very first ale that we ever brewed way, way back, in 1993. Brewed with a big head, a muscular malty thorax, a silky texture & all strung together with a hoppy sweet nerve sack... yum. O.G. 1.072 84.2 IBU

Oh, God! My mother, she woke me up today. She poured a hot pan of grease all over my chest and my ass and genitals and I fell down the stairs and my shoes fell off.

What does that have to do with ANYTHING?

Because I can’t see damn it, you son of a bitch!

12oz bottle. Pours a very deep mahogany colored body with a finger-width, very creamy, tan head that dissipates slowly and leaves a good amount of lacing. Aroma is really nice. Plenty of rich caramels, lightly toasted toffees, berry fruits, dates, citrusy pines, fig newtons, some florals, and a light resin. Sweet, chewy, rich, fruity, and hoppy. Flavor is rich, caramel malts up front with lots of citrusy hops. More cherry-prune fruits, deeper dates, and lightly toasted toffees come in during the middle along with some burnt brown sugar and molasses. Finishes sweet with plenty of citrus hops along with plenty of dates, malts, and lightly roasted grains. Light to moderate bitterness, mostly dry, and a moderate to lengthy aftertaste leaning more towards the toasted, roasty toffees and citrusy hops. Medium bodied with a light carbonation. Overall, I liked this one a lot. Fairly complex flavors with sweet, hoppy, and slightly toasty characteristics make this quite enjoyable. Nice balance and very tasty.

Pours a nice deep ruby color with a thin white head. Aroma is really floral hops with a good caramel malt note. Flavor is really mice and hoppy with a sweet malt under tone. Almost reminds me a little of a sweet double ipa. Good beer though. Very nice.

Pours dark brown with a medium quickly disappearing tan head and a little lacing. Aroma is of sweet caramel malt and hops. Flavor is similar, definitely on the malty side but some citrus hop balance. Nice full body. Overall a good American Strong Ale.

Pours dark, dark amber (almost brown) from the 12oz. bottle into a plastic cup at Zeke’s Roadhouse (Miami Beach, FL): I can smell the faintest hint of chocolate in the aroma, I swear. Hops overload with a caramel backing straight up. With more sips I can taste some molasses, grapefruit, pine, golden raisins, and herbs. Nutty characteristics. Drinkability: Think IPA, but not quite there. Rebuy: Sure. #224 on 28112009, DG.

Very sticky. nice red color with a cool off white head. super sweet. made me want to put it on pancakes. tons of caramel and toffee with some oak backing. hops seemed a little in the back, probably an older bottle. nice rounded mouthfeel though. i wish lagunitas would put a bottle date on their labels.... the verdict: too sweet for me but nice enough!

12oz. botte. Pours a great deep dark mahogany body with a ruby tint. Small quick biege head. Aroma is spices, hops, bready, something like roasted potatoes with some nice floral and grapefruit scents. Flavor is a bit toned down in comparison to the aroma. Still very nice caramel, spices, hops and grapefruit. Medium bodied, low mellow carbonation. Warming sweet finish. Good beer.
