Dec 31, 2009 Pours orange with a thin lacey head. Aroma is medicinal hops, mild sawdust, and a slight cherry tart note. Flavor is sharp hops blended with toasty malts on the front lending an odd vitamin/medicine quality, giving way to a very bitter mid section and a strange, vegetable ending. A bit unbalanced. A few years ago, I would have found this interesting. Now, I just find it a typical, overly hopped American beer. What became of subtlety? Balance? Nuance?

Dec 31, 2009 Bottle. Big American hop nose, some nice bready undertones underlying the vibrant orange, grapefruit, and caramel. Great aroma! Pours a clear amber with golden hues and a sudsy beige head. Taste is dry and strongly bitter (nice and firm for a simplex PA), PNW hops and oils with notes from the aroma, a little extra perfume, and a little resin bite. Strong pine and light must. Light body. A tad bigger than its shoes, but a good pizza quaffer nonetheless.

Dec 27, 2009 Bottle, pours a clear amber with a thick white tan head. Aroma, huge pine citrus. Taste, grapefruit with a big background of citrus. nice hopflavor. Not a lot of tongue tingling hops but leaves a nice dry finish.

Dec 26, 2009 Bottle. Gold body topped a small off white head. Nose is dusty floral hops, orange, biscuity malt. A little touch of stale bathroom in there also. Flavor is pretty straightforward with lots of pine, some citrus pith bitterness and light sweetness. Medium body with some lingering bitterness. Decent stuff.

Dec 26, 2009 Pour is a copper with an average white head. Aroma is decently hopped with a nice pine. Flavor is again a nice hop and a dry malt. Pretty good pale ale and Lagunitas is always a decent price.

Dec 19, 2009 incredibly clean hops used in this one. I was getting alll citrus, but fresh orange citrus and no rind or skin peels or grapefruit. Well there was some grapefruit but it was all fresh grapefruit. Clean and refreshing, I could drink a gallon of this stuff and not be full. Very good beer. Don’t know if it’s better than Dogtown though...

Dec 17, 2009 Bottle in Brooklyn. Light amber body, long-lasting head. Very hoppy nose. Nice taste of citrus, hops and slight malt. Dry finish. Enjoyable.
