Commercial Description:
Brewed only once a year with fresh hops hand-picked in Longmont, CO and Warrior hops straight off the vine from Yakima, WA.
Warrior is brewed using a unique style called “Wet Hopping,” which requires only hops that are no more than a day from the vine. “Wet Hopping” imparts only a mild aroma, but an exceptionally fresh unfiltered hop flavor.

16 oz draft on tap at Tribes (Mokena, IL). Pours a nice dark amber, a bit of fieru orange, with a decent offwhite head, almosyt beige, laces ok. Aromas are very floral, with a firm citrus and a touch of tropical behind, lime and lemon, caramel and pale malt sweetness to balance. Initial is decent/medium bodied with lemon and lime citrus, some florals, decent bitterness, as caramel and pale come in lighter behind. Decent florals and soap towards the backend. A touch of gumballs, citrusy, florals, a nicely done IPA, a bit light on the hops. Very drinkable though, with a good vibe overall. I’d drink this again, but it isn’t up there.

From a bottle poured amber with a good amount of head. Nice hoppy flavor with a lasting finish.

Tap. The beer pours to a clean dark chestnut amber body with a super neat looking foamy/rocky off-white head and superb lacing. The aroma is grassy and seemingly dusty. A touch too light for an IPA. The flavor, however, is spot on. Grassy, tangy weeds, light citrus, herbs, spicy bite from the hops. The palate is sweet, lighter bitter finish makes the super sharp bite of bitterness up front more manageable. Medium bodied.

Bomber into shaker. Pours a mostly clear amber color with a nice white head that diminished quickly. The aroma is piney and hoppy, which you’d expect from any IPA. The taste is, well, not all that great. The only hops presence here is the distinct (though not unpleasant) bitterness. The normal citrus and pine notes you’d normally expect are very understated, though it does leave a mild grapefruit flavor on the palate. I love IPAs, but I don’t imagine I’ll be drinking this one again.

Pours a dark amber, color with off white foamy head. Aroma is of earthy citrus hops with light caramel malt na backbone. Taste is earthy citrus hops, light grapefruit and caramel malt. This IPA lacks the brightness I expect from the style. Not bad but something I wouldn’t buy again.

I’m not sure whent he release date of this beer was. Since it was a "wet-hop" the hops generally lose alot of that fresh flavor in 1-2 weeks. Drink them quickly. I think this may have been a few weeks old because it lacks alot of that fresh resiny hoppiness. Aroma has a little grapefruit and some bread/dough aromas. Upon tasting it was very weak on the malt and lacked a strong hoppiness. The majority of the hop flavor came very late in the long finish of this beer. I prefer the 3F BrooDoo, Founders Harvest or Sierra Nevada Harvest. Not impressed.

Bomber bought a bottle shop in Philly. A very good, but not great, fresh hop IPA. More earthy and woody than most Fresh Hop IPAs with a a bitter, oily hop backbone. I would never kick a wet hop ale out of bed and this one is no exception, but I must confess that I prefer Great Divide’s Fresh Hop APA and all of Sierra Nevada’s Harvest Ales. That being said, this is still better than 98% of alternatives.

Pours off amber with generous white head that retains rather well. Nose is somewhat candied, fresh pine & grapefruit. Palate is somewhat candied as well with the matl seetness leading into slight toffee, but the assertive & acidic hops make their appearance rather quickly and boldly. Herbal or vegetal like pine come through (fresh garden smells), and grapefruit. Finish is rather tart and prickly on the palate.
