A considerably underrated lager that goes well beyond the ordinary.

One of the freshest tasting beer I’ve ever had. Hazy golden topped by a frothy white head. Superbly refreshing grassy, hoppy lager with exquisite toasty malts, crunchy, you’d chew on those malts until you’ve had a meal out of them. Bready (needless to say again extremely fresh bread), gently tart (seems to be a house character, but it totally fits as it just exposes its drinkability farther). Muscled maltiness for a lager, but just plain fresh, bright and poundable.

I’ll repeat it again, The Livery is probably the single brewpub where I’ve disagreed the most with my fellow ratebeerians’ scores.
marcus (1118), Sacramento, California, USA Sep 22, 2008 On tap at the brewery. This clear golden ale poured with a nice off-white head. The flavor is sort of sweet and sour and a bit skunky - it must be from that City of David water. kmweaver (2273), Nicaragua Sep 19, 2008 Draft @ Livery. Pours an orange-tinged honey color; white head with patchy lacing. Solid amounts of sweet malts, apples, and light sugar in the aroma. Medium mouthfeel: chewy apples, sugar, and some basic dried fruits; slightly underhopped and sweet compared to my basic knowledge of a helles, but solidly drinkable and tasty; a touch on the sweet side. Medium finish: sweet sugar, apples, and some toastiness; ends a touch on the sweet side overall. BBB63 (3843), La Porte, Indiana, USA Aug 14, 2008 Tap: Clean golden hue wth a small head and good lace. The aroma has notes of biscuity and buttery vapours, grains and mineral, chalky and earthy. The taste is sweet and veggie with an apple twang, dry chalky finish. The mouth feel is soft and smooth. Sorry guys not one of the better efforts from The Livery.
