Commercial Description:
Brewmaster Steve took his Belgian Amber Ale and re-fermented it in a merlot cask with 100# of sweet Michigan cherries from Husteds Farm Market. He than moved the resulting beer into another cask with 30# of tart cherries. 5 fermentations due to wild yeast and 9 months later, we have our version of a Belgian Kriek. Named after our good friend and musician, April Verch.

Draft sample at brewpub. Poured reddish brown color and an average fizzy off-white head that mostly diminished with fair lacing. Moderate to heavy tart cherry fruit and woody aroma. Medium body with lively carbonation. Medium tingly tart cherry flavor with a medium tart cherry finish of moderate duration. Refreshing change of pace standout fruit beer.

GTMW - Dirty brown / crimson pour with very little head. The aroma has a lot of tart cherries, oak, creamy vanilla and smooth malt. Thick smooth body with very little carbonation. The taste has thick chewy cherries, vanilla, stinging abv and some pleasing tartness. An interesting fruit beer to say the least.

Bomber handbottle from BBB63, thanks Mike, shared with my girlfiriend Cyn. Pours dark ruby brown with a thin tan head. Nose is very rich, very much like a cherry red wine, vinuous indeed. Taste is sweet, but not too sweet, there is lots of cherry and a lot of wine feeling, a lot, the aftertaste is also quite vinious, very close to red wine. This is good and pretty damn unique.
