elihapa (407), Hawaii, USA Nov 20, 2008 11/4/08 notes: Hurray for Obama! I had this before the election was determined. Unfortunately, by no means was this a special beer to celebrate with. Poured a cloudy yellow, with an aroma heavy on candy, sugar, and an artificial orange marmalade smell. Complemented by a light palate, I tasted some simple citrus fruit along with some light wheat. Since I had this in a blind tasting, I must admit this tasted like an A-B offering, or at best, one of Leinenkugal’s girly wheats. Lubiere (3410), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Oct 26, 2008 A milky opaque yellow wit with a thin white head. A lightly skunky wild herbal aroma, with odd sulfury notes. In mouth, fresh and creamy wit, rathe rlight and, in the end, non-descript. Sampled at Vermont Brewfest July 19 2008. kevd193213 (350), Coventry, Rhode Island, USA Oct 5, 2008 Bottle. Slighthly cloudy yellow pour with a thin white head. Aroma of lemongrass and orange peel. Taste of wheat and lemon with some other spices. Even slightly sweet finish. pacaus (49), Dublin, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 23, 2008 Decent Belgium interpretation. I did think the flavour and taste of the wheat and citrus where a little on the weaker side and the taste was not quite as refined as the classics but a decent beer. blklab2007 (600), Connecticut, USA Sep 23, 2008 bottle stamped 6/6/08 poured into a weizen glass has a light golden color with a thin white head that fell quickly to a ring in the glass. aroma has clover, lemon peel, light perfumed spice, wheat, and yeast. actually a nice nose for a long trail with some honey sweetness growing. mouth feel is light with lower end carbonation. flavor has clover, nice sweetness with a honey like kicker, lighter wheat, and complementing spices. takes a different approach at a white with the citrus and was easy drinking and enjoyable.
