Pitcher pour at 2009 GABF. Pours a thin head, with slight lacing, over a clear (SRM 10) pale amber body.....nose is light malts, with minimal bread qualities....taste is slightly bitter with a light hop finish....light mouth feel, light carbonation. A pleasant beer, but with minimal complexity. Tasting of 9/26/09.

Backlog from GOBF. Amber body, nice and clear. Caramel and malt make the smell of this beer. Taste the malt and you just might see, why beer means so much to me. Drink up.

On tap @ Oldsmar Tap House. Pours amber with an off-white head. Nose is malt, caramel, toffee, toasted malt, and some maple. Flavor is very similar with sugary character and a medium body. Decent scotch ale.

Dark brown beer with red hints and thin foam up top. The aroma is very malty with hints of chocolate, caramel, darker fruits, light burnt or roasty notes as well as a hint of earth. Big and malty, more chocolate, dark earthy rpoasted flavors as well as some sweét underlying fruit. Earthy in the finish with lots of residual sugars left over. Full bodied mouth feel with light warming effects.

Had this one at the Scottish games on tap. Nice, thick version of the genre. I felt the palate was ok, as it fell apart a bit as it warmed. Overall, good beer.

Aroma: Big malt aroma with a smoke lingering in the nose.
Appearance: Dark Amber in color, clear with a thin head.
Flavor: Very malty with a light hops and nice addition of smokiness.
Palate: Nice dry finish with a very good overall Mouthfeel.
Overall: Nice beer but it was very malty and missing the needed spices and addition of good aroma and flavoring hops for me.

Draft @ Lost Coast. Pours a dark amber color with a small off-white head. Has a malty spicy aroma with some peaty hints. Sweetish malty warming spicy flavor with hints of caramel and vanilla. Has a long warming malty spicy caramel finish.

On tap, Thirsty Monk, Asheville. Dark brown, big beige head. Chocolate, vanill, boozy aroma. Very rich. Breay, like maybe pumpernickel or something, with Chocolatre notes, too. Some bourbon, maybe? Nice and tasty.
