| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 13, 2009 11.2oz bottle. Pours hazy straw color, topped with an average sized white head. Beautiful, funky aroma with lactic acid and lemon the primary fragrances, and wheat and sour apple in the background. Flavor is wheat and wild yeast for an instant, then a totally unexpected peaty, ashy flavor enters the mix. The flavor is not as alluring as the aroma. Finishes with an earthy, peaty flavor, along with some wild yeast. Not bad, but the flavor is much more impressive than the taste. aracauna (2391), Georgia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 8, 2009 Very clear pale gold. Some particles floating, but not cloudy. I did not pour the dregs from the body. The aroma is funkier than the flavor with sour apples and very light horse blanket. The flavor is much less sour than expected from the flavor, but the slight tartness is quite refreshing. One of the more chuggable sour ales I’ve had. j12601 (1306), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 6, 2009 Bottle at Pizza/Birreria Paradisio. Pours a hazy yellow gold with a thick dense creamy white head. Nice big brett and funk, big and cheesy. Sweet, not as funky as the nose would suggest, but a nice big brett component. Dry and more brett on the finish. A little thin and one dimensional, but still tasty. Teege (107), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 6, 2009 12 oz. bottle from Greens. Pours a fizzy cloudy gold. The nose is extremely funky. Sharp notes of strong cheese, foot, body odor, egg, overripe fruit, and mossy earth. In a nutshell strong and fecund. The flavor is much more mellow. Still a lot of funk, very dry, quite tasty. Gets better as it warms. Hell yes. tommeagher (10), Jersey City, New Jersey, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Dec 6, 2009 Sweet, fruity, thin and flowery. Smells promising but ultimately it’s a letdown. The exclamation mark is totally unneccessary. kappldav123 (1861), Markkleeberg, Germany
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 28, 2009 Thanks for this one, yespr! The bottle looks very simple, but okay. The beer in the glass very zippy, huge head. Sourish aroma. Starts also sourish, a bit salty-prickly. Becomes then a bit thiner. Finish shows sourish-woody notes, a bit grasy. Good beer! aroma is earthy with that barnyard funk going on. Some cider tones as well.
flavour is quite dry and pretty funky. Some biscuity-cracker maltiness and a light hop presence in the finish.
