Commercial Description:
This bright golden pale ale is reminiscent of old world brewing tradition. When drinking the ale savor the caramel malts, imported east Kent goldings hops, and the classic slight buttery aftertaste imparted by authentic London ale yeast. Periodically, you'll find us serve a "cast-conditioned" Pale Ale version of our Goat Hill, if you're patient and search hard enough. This beer derived its name from the location of our Capital building--sitting on top of a Montgomery hill were goats once grazed.

Sampler. Pale golden color. Thin white head. Light citrus aroma, some breadiness. Very sweet malt character, hints of cotton candy flavor. All followed by a West Coast hop bitterness. Very balanced. A nice American Pale Ale. Very nice.

on tap-pours a rich/patchy off white head that laces and gold color. Aroma is mild, nice medium malt, citrusy. Taste is nice citrus-grapefruit rinds-hops, balance/secondary/backbone of medium malt. Medium body.

Draft @ the brewery. Pours amber with no head. Just a few bubbles on top. Aroma was stale hops. Taste was the same. Very boring. As expected from a brewery the serves the same 4 beers with no change to them in the numerous times I have visited.

Draft at the brewery. This is without a doubt the worst beer I’ve ever had directly from a brewery. It poured a nice enough copper color, but the head consisted of about 20 really big bubbles like soapy water. It smelled like a regular, hoppy APA that had been left out in the sun for a couple days. Really not appetizing and clearly infected. The flavor was actually much less bad than I expected at this point with some average bitterness and nice yeastiness, though it was mostly ruined by a skunky sourness. The mouthfeel was similar to those last couple ounces of a 2-liter coke that’s been in the fridge for a month. Normally I wouldn’t even rate a beer that was so clearly spoiled since that’s more the fault of the bar than the brewer and it’s not far to punish a beer’s score for that, but since this was straight from the brewery and more than 1 tap was coming out like this...well, I don’t feel bad bashing this disaster of a beer. Rerated after visiting a year later. It was slightly better this time around and had some carbonation, though not much. Still the ugly soapy head. Still tasted terrible.

Tap at the brewpub. The body was clear dark gold with a thin white head. The aroma aroma was oranges with some roasted peanuts. The taste was light grapefruit with some bitterness in the finish. Pretty well balanced and a little on the hoppy side for an APA.

Appearance: Clear coppy body with a foamy, off-white head. Smell: Light pale malt scent set against hop notes of citrus and pine. Taste: Pale maltiness with a touch of caramel sweetness. Hop flavors of pine and citrus. Moderate earthy hop bitterness which lasts into the finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: You know, it’s okay!

Draft in a shaker glass at the brewery. Pours a clear copper/amber colour with a medium white head. Hoppy aroma that continues into the flavour with a nice, even bitter finish.

Draft at Emerald Coast Beerfest. Poured an attractive amber with a white head that din’t last long. Nice aroma of hop. Taste of malt with a good hop presence. Very drinkable.
