(bottle - 500 ml) Dark ruby pour with a thin tan head. Aroma is roasty and nutty with some light caramel and toffee notes. Flavor is roasty at the beginning with a light and smooth caramel flavor in the middle. Finishes rather roasty with a nice nutty flavor. Smooth and easy to drink.

Very sweet caramel taste. There are also undertones of chocolate and and dark breads. There is a alcohol taste that comes across in a smooth manner. Pleasing beer.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a medium, laced off white head. Lightly roasted nuts, chocolate, caramel and fruit although subtle in the aroma and flavour. Quite lively on the palate, soft carbonation and some hoppy bitterness. A solid, interesting and tasty brown ale.

Brown pour. Creamy head. Lots of coffee in this one, more than most browns. Some light floral hops and very light roasted nuts. Flavor has a good does of coffee with hint of hops on the finish. good brown ale.

Small reminds me of sour red ales in a strange way, along with bbq sauce & malt. It has great fullness of palate for a beer of 4.5% & great depth of flavour. Lovely malt, slight caramel, then the finish dries out nicely with a bit of earthy goodness going on. Only slight whinge is the conditioning is slightly too intense, less bubbles & I think the flavours would show off even more

Bottle from the Bier Stein in Eugene, OR. Poured a brown color with the smell of caramel malt. A hint of chocolate and nuttiness on the palate. An overall good brew.
