Dense creamy head that disappeared pretty quickly leaving a little lacing. Aromas are quite sweet and nutty with hints of caramel, almonds, toffee and some roasted barley. Also a little alcohol. Flavours are initially also quite sweet with caramel and roasted malt. Plenty of hops on the finish. Mouth feel is pretty well spot on. Well balanced beer. Snegurochka (69), Tromsø, Norway
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Oct 7, 2009 Hazy dark amber. Toffee, caramelized almonds and malt, a hint of soap and yeast integrated in the flavour. Long finish. I found it a bit bland. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 4, 2009 Bottled (thanks TM!). Hazy reddish amber colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is nuts, wood, some spices as well as yeast. Some caramel malts as well. Flavour is roasted malts, wood and some mild spices. Raisins and some toffee as well. Actually a decent brew. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 30, 2009 500 ml bottle. Dark brown body with a small, dense, beige head. Aroma of caramel, malt, brown sugar, spices and notes of fruit and nuts. Flavor of sweet malt, roasted caramel, dry fruit and spices with a fine bitter finish. A smooth and easy drinkable beer with a medium body and a richer flavor than first impression might indicate. A sweet and almost woody/roasted malt flavor gives some Belgium association, but this might be something between a brown ale and a Belgium Brune. gam (1092), brisbane, Australia

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 31, 2009 Bottle. [Beer festival 2009] Small fizzy off-white head that mostly diminished. Spare display of lacework. Muddy brown color. Aroma of nutty, grainy, caramel, yeast, wood and some floral and flower like notes. Medium bodied with a soft carbonation and light dry texture. Moderated sweet flavor with some light bitterness. Light dry bitter finish. aphalo (82), Turku, Finland
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Jul 23, 2009 Bottle 500ml. Dark and hazy reddish-brown colour, beige head. Aroma is pleasant but smallish: coffee, roasted malts and smoke. Taste is close to aroma: sweet roasted malts, caramel, hint of pepper and salt. Malty and slighty bitter finish. drpimento (817), La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 1, 2009 Had a bottle of this at Christiana’s Resto Pub on the 2nd floor terrace. Poured with a fine creamy head that fades quicly and no lace. Typical of Belgian brown ale. Nutty, roasty, toffee, a little dark ripe fruit. Malt. Very fine carbonation. Bit of a boozy finish. Opaque brown color. Little too rich for a session.
