Commercial Description:
We usually do not make compromises, but this is probably the exception. Norwegians are dead scared of dark beers. This is an attempt to show that there are gentle dark ales. As such Havre Stout is smooth and drinkable.

We think Havre Stout is good both with and in food. Try pairing it with a read meet dish, or give your vanilla icecream a small dash before serving. Recommended serving temperature 8°C/45°F.

11°P 20 IBU 4,5% ABV.

Smells faint of tobacco or snuff, gras and stable. Taste is a bit sweet but a nice beginner-stout

Horns up to Cheeseman for opening this beer! batch#394, brewed 17-11-08 pours, brown, off-white head. Aroma, of roasted malts, light chocolate and a touch of hops in the nose. Flavor, similar to aroma, sweet roasted malts, coffee-milk like palate with chocolate elements and thin bitterness. Lightly hoppy.Light body and just easy to drink, sessionable.

50cl Bottle from De Molen. Black colour, lasting creamy beige head. Aroma of hard roasted malts, almost tar-like, milk chocolate, wheat(?). Flavour is light sweet, milk chocolate, hard roasted malts, coffee, bitter finish. The beer starts rather full on flavour but gets a thinner mouthfeel towards the end, ending in a bit watery finish. Still a very nice and smooth stout, with a good roasted character.

Pours a dark, dark brown with a fizzy light brown head that fades to a ring pretty fast. Aroma is fairly subdued, roasted malts, citric and earthy hops, vague chocolate, smoke and coffee, some minerals. Flavour is much the same really. Body is light, carbonation fizzy, which makes it seem very thin and basically ruins it. Def not up to usual NØ standards, and as they say on the bottle, a compromise.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. The look is brown to black in color with a beige colored head. The smell is roasty, malts, roasty. The taste is watery, malts, slight roasty, and coffee.

Bottle in Bergen. Black color with a brown foam which remained for a while. Smelled a little fruit, but mainly burnt malt and smoke. The taste was not too impressive for being a Nøgne Ø. Some malt, chocolate and coffee. A little thin.
