Commercial Description:

Pours cludy golden with a frothy white head. Aroma of raspberries, lingonberries and gooseberries. Nice fresh drink. Recommended! (Sampled @ Nærbø Ølfestival 2009)

Bottle shared with Angeloregon... Poured reddish/amber with an off-white head. Medicinal aroma of almost, earthy cheese, lactic and even ben-gay. Fruity beer. Dry palate. Honey sweetness, and a berry-like finish.

Bottle. Slightly red brown unclear body. Huge head at first, but much smaller after a while. Light aroma, some fruits and sweet berries. Quite sourish flavour with hints of sweet berries. Sour finish which left a bad sensation in my mouth. (At home 23.11.09)

Unclear yellow brown body, not very tempting.... but a quite nice creamy head! The aroma doesn’t really remind me of lingonberries, more of blueberry and gooseberry. As many other beers made of berries, it is quite sweet in taste, but not as sourish as lambic (Thank good). When the beer is getting more roomtempered, hints of licorice or anise. Well I wasn’t very optimistic so this was actualy a nice surprise :) (Bottle, Tromso, 231109)

Bottle. Pours a hazy orange brown with a very thick white head. Aroma of apple, fig, cinnamon, pie crust. Smells like a slice of apple pie! Flavor of sweet fruits initially (some cherry, some apple), anise, licorice, and mint. Not really sour to me -- more fruity. Very drinkable and enjoyable. 8/4/7/4/15 [3.8/5]

Bottle. Aroma of diaper, some sort of berry (like a cross between a raspberry and a banana for me), herbs, light sap, leaves. Flavor earthy, woodsy, leavesy, and surprisingly caramelly considering the funky nose. Tart though not very acidic, fairly malty though not sweet. Would like to see more of the fruit come through if they’re going to bother tossing it in there, but still pretty tasty.

The pour is a mostly clear, dark amber color with a full, pinkish-white, fluffy, foamy head which is somewhat lasting and does leave a bit of frothy lace. Nose is actually pretty nice with musty yeast, light earthy funk, some leather, some floral/eucalyptus tones, and tart fruit which smells more like raspberries to me. Flavor is much of the same with a very subtle floral and eucalyptus tone, wet earth, tart raspberries, dry cranberries; the acidity is masked somewhat by the tartness which brings a puckering drying. Finishes long with a bit of cinnamon spicy warmth, a very tart dryness, and just hints of raspberry and eucalyptus. One of the more unique sours I have tried with an overwhelming tartness, almost puckering, but not necessarily full of sour acidity. Nice and interesting from a great brewery but not one of my favorites of the style.

Bottle pours hazy copper. Aroma is fruity, sour, and funky. Flavor is much the same with a puckering finish.
