Angeloregon (2023), Portland, Oregon, USA Aug 27, 2008 On tap at Green Dragon Meet the Brewer event--Poured a deep hazy amber body with a medium off-white head. Bright hoppy nose with a robust, toasty malt nose. Nutty, chewy with lingering floral, piquant hops. Nice beer. BuckeyeBoy (1259), Boise, Idaho, USA Aug 8, 2008 At Oregon Brewers Festival 2008 Pours out a dark amber topped with a tan head. Aroma of nice hops and malt. Tast a little nut and malt. A nice hop end. pnista (918), Bloomington, Indiana, USA Apr 8, 2008 On tap, courtesy of Bill, much obliged! Pours a reddish brown with a bit of haze, so you know that there’s stuff in there. The nose is sweet, full and round with malt and rather liberally hopped for the style. Bigger than most ambers by a longshot. Fuller and creamier in the mouth too. Bigger hops, bigger malt shine in the flavor profile as well. Floral hops with some caramel and chocolate malts. This is really not the A) flavorless mess or B) muddy nondescript mess that most ambers are, and I really appreciate that. It tastes like something good. Well done. jake65 (1355), Meridian, Idaho, USA Feb 13, 2008 Draft @ KLCC Microbrew Festival: Pours a true amber with a smaller sandy head. Aroma is hoppy and bright with citrus. Flavor is more balanced by the malts with plenty of hops coming through. I like this style of hoppier amber ales. AleDrinker (1073), Sunnyvale, California, USA Nov 27, 2007 On tap at Cloud 9 in Corvallis. Pours reddish amber with thin head. Aroma is definitely malty, a bit nutty. Also some floral hops can be detected. Flavor is slightly dry. Body is light to medium with a smooth slightly bitter finish. Refreshing and quaffable.
