On tap at the Jackaloupe Lounge in Eugene, OR waiting for the bus. Pours a nice golden orange with a lightly tanned white foamy head. Nicely done blast of malt and Cascadian hops on the nose, which leads to a very well balanced and crafted NW IPA flavor. Lots of soft sweet malts up front and tons of bitterly grapefruited and citrusy sweet hops flavors blending through the body and finish. Caramely, and a bit bready too. The finish is beautifully bittered out in a lingering fashion. Honestly, this one kind of took me by surprise! It’s damn good!

On tap at Green Dragon in Portland, OR--Poured a murky orange-amber body with a medium off-white head. Lots of citrus and floral hop notes predominate this heavily hopped IPA. Cascades or other grapefruity, orange hops over a sturdy malt spine. Well balanced for the unbalanced genre of beer. Clean and refreshing.

On tap at the Green Dragon. Much more floral then I remember, big grapefruit character, crisp and punchy on the bitterness. This sample was more floral but more bitter then the previous one, but a touch better overall. Citrus hops shine through a big grapefruit finish. Very floral and crisp. Very nice IPA that didn’t totally trash the taste buds with bitterness.

on tap. fresh hop aroma, a little citrus, a little woody, medium amber with a slight haze, solid off white head. Big taste, the bitterness increases but stays fairly balanced, god bite, just a couple moments of metallic

On tap. Pours a straw golden yellow with a warmish hue and a decent enough head. The nose is full of columbus chinook cascase hops. Low malt profile, but not lacking in malt. Lightly fruity, mostly floral resin. The mouthfeel is fuller than thin, but not much more so than average. Bright sharp hop flavor. Refreshing and crisp. The malt is generally subdued, but lightly sweet enough to carry the hops and provide a little bit of subtle fruitiness. The flavors are nicely married. This is a lovely beer that’s more like a big old ass pale ale than a really bitter bracing IPA, but that’s not a bad thing in my book, hell, I’d say it’s even a plus given all the mediocre pales out there.
