Commercial Description:
Bottled. Filtered and force-carbonated.<br /> "Dr Okells is an extremely light coloured beer with a surprising full bodied taste, the sweetness is offset by a very strong hopping rate. That gives the finished beer an over all roundness with very spicy lemony notes and a fine dry finish to counteract the initial sweetness."

Clear straw colored body with a 2 finger white head. Spot lacing. Smell is very floral and hoppy. Taste also has lemon peel notes with some sweetness on the front. Enjoyable and refreshing!

Bottled 50cl. Beautiful golden beer with a nice big creamy, nicely lasting white head. Both aroma and taste are very nice- hoppy, citrusy, earthy with hints of candy, homemade caramel, crackers, mint and licorice. Good malt and hop profile. Subtle carbonation. Remarkable lacework. Slight naphtalin, mothball-like components are detectable, especially on the nose. Otherwise a very good beer. Dry finish which makes you eager to drink more.

50cl bottle. Slightly hazy pale yellow colour, wee white head. Fresh fruit (lemon and ginger) on the nose, with a healthy hoppy background. Same lemony touch on the palate, but it’s the hops that dominate. Lasting bitter finish and after taste. This is a characterful, straightforward IPA that will undoubtedly please fans of this particular style - which includes me. ;=)

Nice citrus aroma with some hints of alcohol on the nose. Looks pretty good, great head, good colour and nice bubbles coming up. Taste is a little watery however, with some dry hops notes and grains. Good mouthfeel. A good refreshing beer for a warm day.

Dry, bitter, hoppy. A little sweetness, perhaps, but this beer should be dry. Rather splendid ale, what! I like mine cold for the bitterness, but let it approach manor temperature, as I sit and watch the huntsmen ready their steeds. Good luck, friends! What better ale to sip in the study, contemplating the history of one’s estate. Seventy-nine pence at Home Bargains, so affordable to the working man! Bravo, I say!

(bottle) Slightly hazy, golden colour with a big and slowly lacing foamy white head. Fresh lemon-fruity and ginger-spicy hoppy aroma with a mildly sweet pale malty background. Light-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a crispy, slightly fizzy carbonation. Pale malt-character with a present fruity hops profile; dry and bitter, also minimal sweet and fruity as well as slightly spicy hoppy finish. Nice session beer lacking some depth (18.VIII.09).
