Commercial Description:
Ale brewed with Spices: Coriander, Cardamon, Mace, Grains of Paradise, Sweet Orange Peel. Adoration is a traditional winter ale, brewed in the Belgian manner, but with the twist of unusual spicing. Sip it on a winter eve sitting before a fire. You’ll understand why we couldn’t name it anything else.

On tap at Toronado. Surprising. Wasn’t sure what this was. Love Ommegang. This was totally out of their profile. Strong, boozy, delicious. Something that could age well. In their CAVES. It was tasty. Hit the tongue almost like a sherry and with a blast of alcohol. My kinda beer. Turned happy hour into happier hours. Highly recommended if you like them strong.

So rich. Pretty good holiday brew. Poured with a smallish off white head and a tiny bit a lace. Color is a hazy medium amber. Aroma is a very rich, heady, malty nutty, caramel, toffee. Flav is about the same. Body is good and so is carbonation. Finish is a little long. Not a session. Cook with it?

750ml bottle 12/22/09 (Binny’s-Downers Grove)-Pours a dark brown with hints of amber with a medium off whtie head. Aroma of fruits, spices, and malt. Taste begins with big time spices and they last throughout the mouthful and it finishes with some sweetness and slight alcohol. This medium to full bodied brew is not the best from them but still very tasty and nice for the holidays.

What a delicious brew. Had it last night at Belgian Cafe. Sweet aroma of orange and corriander. Sweeter taste than any strong ale I have had before. Its body was a dark amber color, medium head. Really a great drink.

750 ml bottle. Deep brown body with ruby notes. Frothy tan head that diminishes to pools of small bubbles. The aroma is full of raisin, fig, plum, coriander, orange peel and anise. Slight hint of toasted malts. The flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly bitter and lightly acidic. It finishes moderately sweet, lightly bitter and lightly acidic. Slight tartness in the finish. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. Slight chalkiness in the finish. Tastes like an overly sweet, spiced quad with some mustiness and anise in the background. The sweetness, not quite cloying, barely leaves room for the spices which results in an odd lingering aftertaste.

Mahogonay pour, thin bubbly white head, sweet malty aroma of dark fruit and spices. Delicious taste of coriander, citrus, a little clove and banana and dark fruit. Wonderful beer.

Cloudy, dark amber color for this brew. Excellent head that recedes in a rocky way. Good Belgian lace, but spotty. Lots of ginger in the nose with very little else left to detect. Strong ginger and Belgian flavors. Slightly sweet, but the spicy ginger takes over for the finish. Think true Ginger Ale. Rich body with an appropriate carbonation. Some darker malts, but it’s the ginger the makes this brew. One of the best ginger beers I’ve ever had.

Okay, I hate these spice-laden brews. This one wasn’t as bad as I feared it would be, but I still didn’t like it. This reminded me more of an overly spiced witbier with the orange peel and cardamon noteable. Ommegang has yet to come up with a new beer that compares to their traditional lineup.
