Commercial Description:
Oskar Blues has released a special draft-only seasonal beer for the winter months. Ten FIDY Imperial stout is a titanic wonder of a stout, immensely viscous, and loaded with neck-deep flavors of chocolate, malt, coffee, cocoa and oats. It’s the beer equivalent of decadently rich milkshake made with Whoppers malted-milk balls and Heaven’s best chocolate ice cream. Ten FIDY is about 10% ABV and is made with enormous amounts of two-row malts, chocolate malts, roasted barley, flaked oats and hops. Ten FIDY’s huge-but-comforting flavors hide a whopping 98 IBUs that are deftly tucked underneath the beer’s mountains of malty goodness.

Also affectionately known as Ten W FIDY (i.e., 10W-50).

Editor's Note: The brewery has had the ABV tested at a lab, which came out to 9.4%.

Can Pours a nice black with a tan-brownish head. The head has average staying power and laces real well. Has a good aroma of coffee, smokey roast, chocolate, nuts, molasses, and some dark fruits. Has a light carbonation. The flavor is good with plenty of sweetness and blended well. The alcohol is well hidden. Has a slick texture. A full body. The finish is good with a nice touch of bitterness. A good aftertaste. I wait a while to get my hands on this and it didn’t dissapoint a very good beer even from a can.

12oz can poured into a tulip glass produced a dark brown frothy head and black body. Like motor oil with a head on it. Flavor and aroma of dark chocolate and roasted coffee.

(Can, Akkurat, Stockholm) Pitch black colour with brief, frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with espresso, ashes, tar and cocoa. Malty, roasted taste with notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, black coffee, ashes and some tar. Generous cocoa bitterness in a long finish. Full body, slightly oily mouthfeel, fairly dry. Alcohol fairly well hidden. Well, it’s bold, full bodied, hoppy, strong and ... it’s canned! But in some way it’s very well balanced and quite easy to drink. Very tasty and quite brilliant!
