BeerandBlues2 (2684), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Oct 9, 2008 Draught. This is Dales Pale Ale aged in Stranahan’s Whiskey barrels. Pours hazy amber with an average, fizzy, white head, somewhat diminishing with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, bread, caramel), heavy hops (flowers, grass, grapefruit), average yeast (dough) with notes of alcohol, grapes, vanilla, and oak. Light bodied, thin texture, soft carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness. The whiskey mellows out the hops and creates an almost candied hop flavor.
