hopdog (4950), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 16, 2008 22oz bottle acquired in a trade. Poured a medium and slightly hazy golden color with a huge sized off white head. Aromas of citrus, some cardboard, and toasted grains. Tastes of light caramel, citrus, some breadiness, and the same cardboard that was present in the aromas. riversideAK (1951), Shoreline, Washington, USA Nov 27, 2008 Nitro pour. Golden and clear with a big foamy head. The aroma is odd funky hops, weed, and cat box. A touch of sea salt too. The flavor is a little sulphuric with some ale yeast sweetness and a funky hoppy finish. Weird beer. luttonm (164), Seattle, Washington, USA Sep 26, 2008 Nitro pint from Brouwer’s in Seattle. Nose of egg whites and honey, not the most appealing. Very smooth mouthfeel but nagging sourness over strong malts. Definitely had hints of the hops but not rising to balance enough. Aroma – Very nice amount of hops coming off the nose.
Appearance – Amber in color, Nice head and clear.
Flavor – A nice balance bitter beer. Had a buttery flavor to it all through out it was nice.
Palate – Good Mouthfeel, nice light texture with a dry finish.
Overall – This was a very nice bitter beer easy to drink and nice flavor.
after4ever (2006), Brier, Washington, USA Jan 9, 2008 22. Bit of a bummer about this one, shows a lot of promise. Crystal clear medium amber with a thick, creamy tan head and plenty of lace. Sweet dusty bready nose, showing some sweet corn and strawberry as well. Too bad. Body’s on the light side of medium, with a bit of woolly carb. Soft and sweet malty maris mid-palate, unfortunately joined by corn and strawberry. Long earthy, leafy hop finish. I’ll finish this beer even with the little flaws, but it sure seems like it could be pretty special if they tightened up the QA a little and got the DMS and esters outta there.
