| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 26, 2009 Muddy brown, very carbonated, sediment formation. Aroma is heavily chocolate. Taste is incredibly complex and hits in waves. I can pick out some chocolate in the finish, very little hop presence, lots of carbonated fizz (too much for my liking, almost soda like), smoky, yeast. Dry finish. Uniquely good. bedainedebiere (285), Terrebonne, Quebec, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 26, 2009 33cl bottle from Bieropholie import service. Mianly sweet and spicy aroma. Complex taste, fruity, sweet, slightly spicy (gingerbread, cinnamon), tabacco, wood, but with a discreet hopping. Not overwhelming but quite interesting and enjoyable. keidjxz (61), Irvine, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 24, 2009 Bottle. Pours dark murky brown with a decent tan head. Flavor combines a bread and dough note, with a sweet dark fruit aspect with a bit of sourness and a smooth bittersweet finish. shigadeyo (2263), Harrison, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 22, 2009 11/22/2009: Trappistes Rochefort 6... Aroma: Complex; sugary tropical fruits; fruit leather; caramel and toffee maltiness; brown sugar; cedar-like wood. Appearance: Pecan brown color with an audible off-white crown that dissipates at a fairly high rate; complexion is cloudy/opaque. Flavor: Again, complex and difficult to properly describe since everything is so well-melded; sweet bread and lightly caramelized malts; golden raisins; a hint of raspberries and cream (vanilla); fig; white plum; some strength to the alcohol that is evident, but doesn’t overwhelm the other flavors; finish is more toward the dry side of the scale, but there is a slight sweetness to the beer overall. Palate: Medium body; well-carbonated; tingly mouthfeel. Overall: Extremely good; well worth the $4.99+tax/bottle!
