Part of the Summer variety pack. Mushroom nose with a tart lemony edge. Clear yellow, thin white head. Sour malt flavor, bready, with a grassy finish. Fairly well balanced, and refreshing.

BOTTLE: Body light but not thin. Biscuity maltiness and consistent touch of hops bitterness start to finish.I,m not one to judge it as a Helles - but as a moderately priced beer it’s drinkable , refreshing, not bad at all. BUY AGAIN? In an assortment pack, yes.

a slight yeasty malt aroma, light body, has a bit of a bitter hop taste mixed in with caramel malts, very average brew.

Oct. 17, 2009; 12 oz. bottle. Pale, yeasty lager with some citrusy zing and a pretty good malt backbone.

12 oz bottle given to me by beastiefan2k. 1129 1404 stamped on neck of the bottle. Pour is clear golden with a firm 2 inch white head. Quite lasting, eventually falls with decent lace. Aroma of earthy toasted malt with a hint of straw floral. There is also a bit of cardboard which detracts. Taste is the nose, mineral earth toasted malt with the straw floral hop n the middle through to the dry finish. There is also a touch of honey sweetness that pokes out a bit. Hint of clove in the back of the finish, some very mild white pepper in the aftertaste. Palate is medium thin, easy to drink. Nice enough beer, thanks Eugene.

(bottle - 12 oz) Clear gold color with a fizzy white head. Aroma is bready and slightly sweet with some hints of grass. Flavor begins with a dry hop and biscuit malt flavor, giving way to a lightly bitter and grassy middle. Finishes clean and crisp.

Mix 12 pack of summer beers, consumed in the fall, no biggie its Saranac. Pours with a small head and a lightly sticky lacing. Color is completely clear dark straw. Aroma has earthy hops coming out, nice enough but not strong. There is a nice enough white biscuit maltiness but also a light metallic part, not strong though. Flavor has a low level of bitterness underneath it all, a pretty good use of the noble hops. Plenty of lightly slick white bread malts. Got your basic Helles here, decent stuff and I could definitely drink this again.
12oz bottle, Free State Anniversary Willibecker glass.
