| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Dec 30, 2009 Tap. Cloudy light yellow pour, white head. Wheat and yeast on the nose, but where’s the spice elements? Seems to be lacking for a hefeweizen. phaleslu (575), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Dec 7, 2009 Draft pint at The Post in Maplewood. Pours a semi-cloudy pale yellow with a small white head that doesn’t last long. Aroma of wheat, lemon, pepper, and light banana. Flavor is more wheat, lemon, pepper, and banana, with some grain, yeast and still no clove. Light-medium bodied, dry, and mild. Glad to see this classified as a wheat ale, as it’s so light on the main components of a German Hefeweizen. thirdeye11 (563), Texas, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 23, 2009 ( 12oz bottle thanks to BA jfeger) Pours a cloudy, and very pale color with a nice 1 finger head that actually stays around a LONG time. The head and lacing on the glass are both superb. Nose is very wheaty, some pale malt, some bittering hops are present but light, unidentifiable citrus of some sort. No cloves, banana, or spiciness to speak of which is disappointing because the label says it is a Hefeweizen. Taste follows the nose. A light citrus is present on the front, lots and lots of wheat, the bitter hops are a nice touch, and it is a crisp summer refresher. Not bad at all, just not sweet enough. Very well done, carbonation, weight are spot on here. I won’t seek it out again. unclemattie (2442), Georgia, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 4, 2009 12oz bottle. Bottled on 07.08.09. Bright yellow, clear. Thin white head. Grassy aroma, a bit of fresh wheat. American Wheat Ale. Flavor of corn meal. Finishes with a bit of fruit. Very light bodied, refreshing, and dry. A good lawn mowing brew. patrick767 (2052), fort wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 20, 2009 bottle - Pours cloudy straw colored with a thin white head. It has a mild yeasty aroma with hints of citrus and spice. The flavor is sweet and light, decent with not much going on in it. It’s light bodied and alright, but uninspiring. smart001 (44), Scott AFB, Illinois, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 3, 2009 [bottle into weizen] not bad for an american heffe, but it is a little watery for my palate. Aroma is slightly citrusy, taste is wheat, and nothing else. It is an allright beer, but nothing great. MI2CA (1266), Noblesville, Indiana, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 2, 2009 12oz - Aroma is mostly wheat and straw. Flavor is banana, wheat, doughy yeast and a slight lemon tang. Palate is creamy and tart. Not offensive, but nothing special. bblack99 (219), Kansas City, Missouri, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Aug 31, 2009 Slightly hazy straw yellow with a big, bright white, bubbly head - decent retention. This shouldn’t be called a hefe, because it simply isn’t.
Nose lacks the banana, clove, and coriander spices, which are also missing from the flavor. Wheat and corn in the nose, a bit of wheat and lemony citrus on the tongue. Thin, almost watery with flavors that completely disappear at the finish. More comparable to a Bud Light than a true hefeweizen.
