12 oz bottle from Thiesti! Thanks Tim! Nose of slightly sweet caramel, vanilla, and yeastiness. Clear copper with a mediu, lightly lacing, cream colored head. Flavor is slightly sweet, slightly bitter, with lots of caramel. Finish lightly bitter.

Pours a clear amber with moderate beige head, mostly diminishing. Aroma of caramel and biscuit malt, no hop presence. Definitely tasty with good medium body. Sweet caramel malts in front with hint of cinnamon then a crisp, spicey hop finish. But like a true Oktoberfest style this is a malty brew. Solid offering by not quite up to par with a true German brew. A bit on the sweet side.

Pours a clear copper. Aroma is very low and almost nonexistent, but there may be a slight malt aroma. Taste is slight malt with more on the hops side, a slight bitter finish. I’ve had much better Oktoberfest beers.

Flying Saucer, Kansas City. Rich, clear copper color with a medium-sized fluffy cream-colored head. Bread dough, sweet caramel malt, and little else. Sweet taste, lacking in hoppy bitterness, well-balanced malts, and just a bit of peppery bite. Easy drinking, but not terribly memorable.

16 oz draft at Waldo Pizza in Kansas City, Missouri. Served in a really nice Schlafly glass. Pour is clear orange golden copper with an off white head. Aroma of not too much, a bit of fruity malt, and a note od something chemical behind that. Taste starts with a slight chemical cherry sweetness, followed by floral and caramel malt. Palate is thin medium, light carbonation. Easy to drink, and nice enough.

Aroma has some sweet apple, cinnamon and bread. Off copper pour with creamy head, slightly cloudy as well. Flavor is very sweet and bready, with apple and some ripe banana. Palate is creamy. Much more like a traditional German Marzen than most of its American counterparts.
