| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 17, 2009 Bottle. Poured a darker amber color with an off white head. Aroma was fruity, malty, and plums. Flavor was sweeter. Plum, fig, and warming alcohol as it went. Medium body, with light carbonation. A good beer, something was missing to make this a great beer though. hopscotch (5534), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 13, 2009 Bottle… Pours clear and dirty orange with a mid-sized, creamy, off-white head. Fantastic retention. The aroma is a multitude of dark fruits; standouts being dates and raisins. Full-bodied and silky with tingly carbonation. The flavor parallels the aroma; sweet and chock full of dark fruits – dates, raisins, alcohol and a suggestion of fig. Well-balanced, warming finish. wxman (588), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 8, 2009 Just ran out of the draft when I got to the Tap Room. Rats! So this is from the limited series 25.4 oz bottle. Pours a bright medium amber with a minimal pale tan head that sticks to the surface. Has a real smoky vinous and licorice aroma. Flavor is almost overpowering. Almost tongue-numbing, flavors of licorice, maple, dark fruit, sweet roasted malt and brandy. Alcohol really evident after the swallow. Really good - - in small doses! 750 bottle served in a Chimay chalice. Bottle conditioned. Opens with a big pop. Pours a clear amber tinted gold. Lots of carbonation, but only a finger of off white head. Slightly spice aroma from yeast. A bit of sugar and a little alcohol in the aroma. Full bodied and smooth. First sip seems pretty sweet, but that goes away pretty quickly, and the beer settles down. Nice and malty with some more spice in the finish. Dangerously drinkable at 12%. Alcohol is well hidden. Nothing spectacular, but a good evening’s drinking. Rciesla (3800), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA

Pours a hazy amber brune body with some copper highlights and an off white frosty head. Huge warming etoh latent fruit, salty fruit, applejack with some spicy yeast character. Huge beer and fun to drink. Nice.
