Dec 10, 2009 (Draught at St. Urho’s Pub) Poured reddish brown and clear with small white head. Aroma consisted of malts, molasses and alcohol. Palate was full bodied, warming and bit on the dry side with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, molasses, caramell, toffee, bitterness, banana and light roastedness. Aftertaste was sweet and bitter. Still too sweet but aging would help.

Dec 8, 2009 I loved this one. First I should note that this was a bottle of 2007 vintage purchased DEC 8 2009. I started off right with a side note from my local package store guy.. Don’t drink this one ice cold. Chilled a little yes but not at fridge temps. As for the beer itself, it has a nice reddish brown color and a some what thick mouth feel almost oily or slippery to it. It weighs in at 14% ABV which does come across but is not over kill on the pallet and adds nicely to the overall experience. I will buy this again no doubt!

Dec 5, 2009 Bottle from Systembolaget, bought in december 2008. 2008 vintage. Pours an amber color with a small white head, which fades away. Aroma is vinous with raisins, dried plums, toffee, caramel and molasses. Also some alcohol. Flavour is sweet, malty and rather vinous with toffee/caramel, raisins, plums, molasses/syrup. Finishes with some warming alcohol. Medium to fullbodied. Carbonation is average to soft, the texture is a bit sticky. A bit too sweet to drink a lot of, but a nice sipper. Worth a try - and it will probably taste better after a few years! I’m glad I at least waited a year with this bottle.

Dec 1, 2009 Big wine almost brandy like aroma. Very viscous beer. Coats the tongue. Plenty of alcohol but still balanced. Sweet taste lingers as well. A snifter beer for sure.

Nov 30, 2009 Bottle @ Cardinal. Pours golden with no head at all. Aroma of rich malty esters, some honey and molasse, big alcoholic scent. Taste is powerful big roasted, sweet malt flavours with a lot of alcohol. Dry palate with a smooth nutty finish.

Nov 29, 2009 Pours clear ruby amber with a thin off white head. Aroma is alcohol, caramel, and light fruit. Taste is sweet fruit, caramel, honey, berry, maple, and orange. Very smooth, alcohol is not the dominate factor. Medium thick body and smooth carbonation.

aroma is dark caramel, vienna, quite nice.. faint boozy.
