Commercial Description:
This Beer is bottled in 500ml SCHNEIDER bottles.
This unique beer is the result of the long friendship of Schneider brewmaster Hans-Peter Drexler and Brooklyn brewmaster Garrett Oliver. The two brewmasters feel that Schneider & Brooklyner Hopfen-Weisse represents the quality, tradition and terroir of the Bavarian Hallertauer hop region paired with the innovation and creative energy for which Brooklyn is famous.

This one poured a murky straw yellow color with a pretty large white head. Aroma was very sweet candies, peaches, and some yeast. Flavor was sticky sweet, a little alcohol, some unrippened citrus fruits, and yeasty abana clove finish. A very interesting beer.

A: Pours a very cloudy muddy yellow brown color. You could pass it off as apple cider with a huge head. As I mentioned the head is thunderous. You can’t even come close to pouring the entire bottle into a hefe glass. The head is made of millions of tiny bubbles, that turns to an almost sea foam like character on top. The reason it got the 4 here is because of the lacing because lets be honest its kind of an ugly beer. Very few Hefe’s sport lacing and this baby has it from the top to the bottom of the glass. Sheets of lacing baby. S: Bold smell. Tons of clove right up front and center. Buttered yeast rolls and mashed overripe banana round out the aroma of this bad boy. T: Big tasting brew as well. The marriage is not quite there, but it is a nice tasting brew. If it could have somehow been pulled together a little better it would probably be a favorite of mine. As it stands it’s a beer with a lot of promise. As for the taste. Tons of cloves, and a hint of hops. There is a hop bite somewhere in the middle that takes you by surprise. Banana stands out as well. It’s a more complex version of your typical Hefe. M: Light and bubbly, but the ABV lets you know its there.

Bottled. Cloudy amber, yeast is stable and settles in the bottom, lively carbonation, off-white lacing head. Wonderfull fresh Saphir aroma. Chewy and fullbodied, but still dancing lightly on the palate despite its strength. A new classic. A vertical tasting against a 2 year old proves interresting. Citric hop notes decrease, ligt oxidized notes appear, but it gains a fascinating dryness which I usually ascociate with Orval. Alcohol is more evident but blends well with the flowery perfumed notes. I am looking forward to see how it develops further.

An unclear golden beer with no head. The aroma is floral hops & banana. The taste does some weird things to your mouth as the floral hops & banana taste collide to create one serious floral taste. It taste like medicine & sweet like something artificial was added. I like both these breweries but this did not work for me.

Bottle:   Dirty straw, cloudy, lively carbonation, large rocky white head, light lacing.   Wheaty nose, seems sweet, rather musty too.   Hints of alcohol and citrus rind.   Interesting combo on the tongue, initially wheaty but quickly turning into an earthy citrus rind like background.   Full bodied, bubbley mouthfeel.   Wheatiness appears again after the finish.   Better combo than I expected.

( 500ml bottle) pours clearish yellow with spare head. Nose of floral hops, honey, and chlorine? This is a very odd nose. Taste of sweet malt, apple, light bitter hops, perfume and florals.

This one is tasty...hoppy aroma with notes of banana, yeast and wheat. Flavor is light and refreshing, with citrus hops and fruity notes. Alcohol is well-hidden and the mouthfeel is quite carbonated. Delicious!
