On cask at OTH. Poured a hazy yellow. From the nose alone you can smell the non-complexity. Grainy, hops barely, worty. Flavor is unfermented wort, watery grains and not much else. Don’t bother. What a waste of a cask. Sometimes second runnings aren’t worthy of their own beer, and this is the perfect case of that.

Pours a hazy orange with a thin white head. Smells earthy, rosey, sweet and earthy. Tastes earthy and sweet with a nice spicy bite on the finish.

On cask at the Oldsmar Tap House. Pours opaque with deep gold edges and murky brackish copper core. The head lasts to the end leaving behind clingy and almost clumpy lacing. This beer looks pretty cool. The aroma is mild in strength with a subtle mix of grains, malt sweetness and a just noticeable level of citrus. The mouth feel is thin and sort of grainy and makes me want more. The taste is grainy and slightly citrus like and seems a bit more like sweet unfermented wort than I care for. But I like the taste of wort. It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense in a finished beer. Midway and to the finish the sweet wort like malts recede leaving grains and a mild level of grapefruit hop bitterness. Refreshing brew with plenty of flavor for a small beer.

On cask at Oldsmar Tap House. Pours hazy gold with tiny white head. Nose is slight malt and maybe some grain and bread. Flavor is malt, sweet, and some bitter up front and some hop tang. Interesting, but not an experience I would soon repeat.

Cask at Oldsmar Tap House. Hazy golden color with very thin white head. Very faint hops in the nose also some malt and grain. Thin mouthfeel with soft cask carbonation. Flavor is watery sweet with mild hop and grain notes. Dry slightly bitter finish.

Cask at Redlight. Pours a golden yellow color with a small, foamy white head. The aroma is shows toasted grains, honey, pale malts, and some mild earthy hops. The flavor follows with the sweet, grainy taste with mild bitterness from the earthy hops. Medium bodied and too syrupy and sweet for a bitter. Not bad for what it is, but just not my style.

Draft… Hazy golden ale with a small, creamy, white head. Grainy, pale malt aroma. Light to medium-bodied with minimal carbonation. The grainy, thin flavor offers subdued medium-roast malt sweetness. Not a lot of hot hop-on-hop action, but not bad. Grainy, fairly dry finish. It is what it is – a second batch of coffee brewed from the same old grounds. Better than Anchor’s Small Beer, that’s for darn sure. My apologies to Old Foghorn!
