hoppybeers4me (15), Ohio, USA Jul 21, 2008 On tap at the brewpub, July 10. Attractive color and decent flavor for an amber. I definitely tasted the hops and malt, and thought it was pretty well balanced, with just a touch of bitter and a hint of toffee. This could be a session beer if you wanted drink something safe. spadedbearsays (9), USA does not count Jul 26, 2007 stopped by snow goose for some food, wasn’t too impressed with the forty niner, not much flavor and didn’t really compliment the steak... I’d go for the IPA or the bravehart first..... Braudog (3464), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Jul 17, 2005 On draft at the brewpub 7/6/05: Dark reddish hue. Nice malty sweetness here that’s fairly well balanced with a twisty little orange spike at the end. OK. aracauna (2250), Georgia, USA Jun 25, 2005 Clear mahogany, faint malty aroma, lightly malty body. Boring. Slightly nutty finish. DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA Sep 1, 2004 (Draft: Sleeping Lady Brewing Company in Anchorage, AK) Very tasty! The flavor is toasty and very malty, moderately sweet, mildly bitter, and tastes like wort; Medium bodied, but coats the palate nicely; Very malty nose is toasty and also reminiscent of wort; Ruddy amber color; Almost no head on the pour
