Commercial Description:
This English-style pale ale captured a silver medal at the 1998 Great American Beer Festival in Denver and still tames the thirsty palate. Made with a blend of flaked barley, a variety of malts and a hop bill that includes Northern Brewer, Fuggles, and Liberty, Urban Wilderness tastes smooth and supremely balanced

Can. Pours a slightly hazy golden amber with a big bubbly head that retains a cap for a while and leaves a little lacing. The aroma is a little bit of earthy and citrus hops on top of a sizable sweet maltiness. The taste has the same dominant caramel malt backbone but with some earthy hop bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with decent carbonation. Overall an understated and balanced pale ale.

[1666-20080906] Tap. Hoppy notes in a leafy malt aroma. Clear, amber brown body with quick white bubbles. Malt and bitter yeast grains and some leafiness in the flavour. Medium body is bitter. Fair.
(@ brewpub; Anchorage, AK)

2008-09-06. Dark amber body yields a tiny off white head with some effort. Pleasant hops up front in the flavour turns a bit rough, green resin and vegetation, supporting malt is mild, citrus seeds and grass. Good hoppy aroma, resin and citrus seeds. (7+) Average palate. Decent. On tap at the brewpub.
