Commercial Description:
Juleøl har lang tradisjon i Noreg. Julegøtt er eit overgjæra juleøl med moderat humlepreg. Me har brukt fleire spesialmalt for å gje særpreg, men balansen i ølet er behalden slik at det lettare passar til julemat.

The tan head comes oozing out of the bottle, and it never stops. Pours black with brown highlights, massive frothy tan head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, herbal notes, a slight sourness. Probably infected. Flavour is ashy burnt notes and roastedness, coffee and sweet chocolate, some liquorice, spices, dry herbal hop finish. Medium to thin body, the carbonation is too fizzy.

33cl bottle from Scrizz. Roasty chocolate, some smokiness and juniper. Lively carbonation with herbal notes, also picking up the roasty chocolate malt as well. Touch metallicly also.

Bottle from Havana, Oslo. Pours dark brown with an unstoppable, rocky, light brown head. Good roasted coffee and chocolate aroma, but on the sweet side. Flavours are less sweet and more roasted, with burnt notes and licorice. Decent attempt from the small Norwegian brewer.

200cl bottle from Hotel Havana, Oslo. Pours a deep brown almost black color with a huge creamy brown head. Aroma and flavor of roasted coffe and chocolate. This is the third time I have tested this one in 200cl bottles, and this sourness from infection is nowhere to be found. I have also tested the 33cl bottles several times and they have been infected (#1) The last time I tested this beer in 200cl bottle I had it with smoked barbeque marinated pork rib and it was one of the best beer I hvae had.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of yngwie. Pours a hazy, dark brown - close to black - with a tint of red and a tall, dense and lively shaving foam style beige head. Aroma of hard roasted malt and a little licorice. Light body, heavy carbonatiion, burned malty accents, vanilla and licorice. Lightly bitter malt finish. Nice alright - and the first decent beer I’ve had from Små Vesen. 080209

33 cL bottle. Pours dark brown to black with a huge tan head. Solid roasted malt aroma, mild chocolate presence and a vague spice note coming through. Roasted malt and chocolate base flavour. Mild spiced and bitter flavoured from the roasted malt and underlying hops. Ends dry and slight roasted finish.

Bottled. A dark brown beer with a dark brown head. The aroma has notes of phenol, chocolate, and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of chocolate, and burnt malt as well as light notes of phenol, leading to a dry roasted finish. Too bad with the infection, I think this could be a good beer.
