330 ml bottle #2. Hazy, orange body with a big and creamy white head. Aroma is nice and fruity with hops, spices and yeast. Flavor is very refreshing, fruity like citrus, gentle malty and a balanced bitterness. Medium body, long, fruity finish and quite lively carbonated. The best I have tasted so far from Små Vesen, but I think is important to get the right bottle at the right time. This one where probably exactly what it should be.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of yngwie. Pours a very cloudy and opaque golden with a lively and very tall, white head. Aroma of yeast, fruit and phenols. Medium body, yeast, fruit and a shitload of phenols and acetone - really, really horrible. Astringent and chemical finish. An infected mess from the swomps of hell. 080209

33 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a huge, white and creamy head. Yeasty and mild spiced aroma. Mild orange peel fruity with a mellow yeasty base flavour. Smooth fruity, wheaty and bitter finish. Lasting solid phenol/yeasty impression.

Bottled. A murky golden beer with an orangey head. The aroma is sweet with a sharp note of hops, as well as some infected notes of burnt plastic. The flavor is sweet with notes of citrus, Belgian yeast, phenol, and Belgian yeast.

Bottle. An unclear, orange beer with a coarse, big and diminishing off-white head. Dusty, sour, milkish, chalky nose with some fruits and grains. Not much better in the mouth, but at least some bitterness shows up. Else it’s much the same as the aroma. Thin, acidic mouthfeel. Long citric finish with lemon-peel bitterness. I think I’m being quite polite awarding 1.3 for this one. Rating: 2-3-2-2-4-1.3. (081202)

Bottle. It pours a hazy orange body, topped by an off-white head of considerable size, but quickly diminishing. Dusty, citric nose with some orange and miilky sourness. Fruity flavor, citric and chalky, finishing with a milky touch and quite citric. Thin body. Sure something going seriously wrong here, but it hadn’t crossed the border of undrinkable yet. There were still some refreshing qualities. (081130)

33 cl bottle, batch #2 - thanks yngwie. Hazy orange brown color, off-white head. Aroma is fruity, yeasty and has a touch of sourness. Flavor is malty sweetness and some bitterness, but most of all there is a strange aftertaste and hints of harshness. Almost unpleasant, but in some way not undrinkable. High and fine carbonation.

330ml bottle, batch 2, many thanks to OleR. We exchanged a few bottles at Oslo Mikrobryggeri while enjoying their 2008 edition of Oslo Juleøl. This Rakfiskøl pours a very hazy, beige-brown body with a white head. While the appearance was not a pretty sight, the aroma and taste were alright containing tart and spiced fruits. Foamy in the mouth. Medium bodied [19.11.2008].
