Bradrcr (631), Renton, Washington, USA Dec 1, 2008 9/26/08 From the bottle. Aroma is true bready with a grainy yeast sourness. Appearance is hazy yellow with a well maintained white head. Flavor is sour, with a light wheaty sweetness. Mouthfeel is medium/low bodied with a moderate carb texture. Overall, fairly easy drinking, but not great.
nuplastikk (509), USA Sep 29, 2008 22oz bottle. Thick orange-tan color. Mild, sweet aroma. Thick, yeasty mouthfeel, Creamy and smooth. Not overwhelming in the banana flavor department, very well balanced. Some earthy flavors in there as well. Quite enjoyable. mvcramer (211), Arlington, Massachusetts, USA Sep 27, 2008 Thanks to Lexi for bringing this one back to Boston from Seattle for me. A good beer, but nothing spectacular. Just a middle of the road hefe. A bit sweeter on the palate than you’d expect. Skyview (3058), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Jun 24, 2008 On draught at the brewery taproom in Snoqualmie, WA as Snoqualmie Falls Haystack Hefeweizen. Pours a hazy golden straw brew with a fast dissolving white head that quickly dissipates to a fine white ring. Aroma of lemon citrus, a touch of clove and some white bread malt. Taste is light bodied, light carbonation with some flavor of white bread malt with wheat, some lemon zest and a touch of clove. Finish is semi-sweet wheat malt aftertaste that quickly disappears to a crisp finish. after4ever (1925), Brier, Washington, USA Feb 9, 2008 Draft at the brewery. Cloudy medium straw with tiny rim of white film. Virtually no nose at all, maybe a little footy in there somewhere. Medium body, fairly subdued carb. Gets a little banana and clove on the mid-palate but you really have to be looking for them. Neither individualistic nor classic, really. It’s a just-drinkable-enough little ale that happens to be called a hefeweizen. You could drink a bit of this when it’s draft and fresh, but it doesn’t have much personality.
