AmEricanbrew (1112), Swamp Shreveport, Left Coast, Louisiana, USA Nov 29, 2008 Nitro draft@ the brewpub. Black with a viscous tan head. Roasty, nutty, blackened malt aromas. Medium/full body with a super smooth mouthfeel. Good flavor is rich roasted/black malts with a touch of oatmeal sweetness. Nice mocha coffee taste to finish. cbeers21 (456), Miami, Florida, USA Nov 28, 2008 Tap @ brewpub. Looks great with beautiful tan head over menacing black body. Aroma is a little restrained but light oaty notes come through as well as quiet vanilla dn toasted chocolate. The bittering body leaves a drying in the mouth but the body of the brew is absolutely velvety smooth and really wonderful. The flavor doesnt really coe around but the mouthfeel made this beer for me. anders37 (2819), Malmö, Sweden Jul 23, 2008 Draught @ the brewpub, on nitro. Pours a black longlasting creamy tan head. Roasted malty coffee and milk chocolate aroma. Smooth roasted malty chocolate flavor with some hints of coffee. Roasted malty finish with some mild chocolate in the aftertaste. SuzyGreenberg (1067), Seattle, Washington, USA Feb 16, 2008 draft @ brewery - went for a growler of sandy river = out...then for a growler of serendipity = out...pineapple = out...so while the latest brewer’s choice (spring fling) filled my growler, i downed a pint of this; jet black with hearty tan head; very creamy of course, just not too flavorful after4ever (1925), Brier, Washington, USA Feb 9, 2008 Draft at the brewery. Black with a light but densely creamy tan head. Heavy sheets of gorgeous lace. Mild chalk and cocoa nose. Soft watery still body. Virtually flavorless (by stout standards) but for those heroic wisps of chalk and cocoa fighting their way through the nitro. Mild chocolately finish. Nitro. Meh. Why do I even order these beers? ’Cause I’m an idiot.
