Bottle at Chris o Pre GBBF Shindig 08. It’s again a little empty in the mouth like the Forars Ale we had before this one. Some ok hop on end. Not great. Just a little empty.

500ml bottle (St. Urho’s, Helsinki) as Dunkel 5
Dark brown colour.
Wait a sec. Are you sure this is the same as the LOA? There’s no way in heck that Dunkel 5 can be described as ’amber’ or ’dark golden’.
Slightly nutty tobacco aroma, a bit sweet, and with some German pilsner hops too. Quite crisp palate. I find this was much tastier after quite a bit of swirling, to decrease the carbonation and soften the palate. Big nutty taste - walnut everywhere. A bit thin on the malt, but the hops and nuts, almost wood, compensate well. The hops build up, and become quite mouth-coating.

Fra Superbrugsen, Aarhus, DK. Bottled. Caramel aroma and flavor. Thin as most Søgaard brews
