| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 12, 2009 Growler. Aroma of gently roasted malt, hints of vanilla and oak. Flavor much richer and maltier than the nose anticipated, roast continues to be present but gentle, in favor of pure, dark maltiness with hints of chocolate, meshing with a vanilla sweetness. Nearly hidden tannic notes. Bourbon presence mild but effective; I wouldn’t say I ever got straight bourbon, but the influence was definitely there in the chocolate notes and a certain vinous character. Nice stuff. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, sweet roasted malt. Flavor of roasted malt, sweet malt, lactose. Only a slight bourbon presence, if at all. Overall, this is a decent imperial porter and rather drinkable for a 10% abv.

Bourbonny, molasses and smokey nose. A big full flavor for a porter with a medium to full bodied mouthful. Definitely has a kick to it both flavor and booze wise. Some roasted malts with some sweetness but definitely drinkable goldtwins (4084), Nesconset, New York, USA
