RIXbeer (102), USA Nov 28, 2008 Pours a true amber color with a very sparse head that fades quickly. Very fast moving carbonation (bubbly looking). At first the smell of caramel takes over the grapefruit hops, biscuit, light raisin and barely present spiciness. Very crisp and smooth tasting with a clean pine, fig, grapefruit and deep caramel play off one another to create a fairly complex dance in a sea of medium carbonation. Feels medium bodied full of flavors that don’t overwhelm rather lend complexity to each other to enhance the mouthfeel of this really good beer. This is a must try. You may like it, you may not. You should pick this one up and give it a shot! Damn Tasty! jonno (217), Japan Nov 20, 2008 A great amber..probably speakeasy’s best beer. Pours a beautiful darkish red. Strikes a fine balance between the malt and a bit of a hop kick. well balanced. a pondering beer on a sunday afternoon fiulijn (6010), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Oct 19, 2008 Bottle from the Freakin’ Frog, Las Vegas
Red-amber color. It has a moderate hoppy aroma, a bit resiny. The mouthfeel is quite dry, with dry toffee flavor, but with a fair hopping. Pleasant, as usual from Speakeasy. Drink4Satan (499), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA Oct 3, 2008 Pours a slightly hazy pale amber with a sturdy off-white head. The nose is full of peppery spice, mildly roasted malt, caramel and citric zest. The flavour initially is charaterized by citric hops and Munich malts, mild cocoa and earth. The palate is nearly perfect, medium bodied, nicely carbonated, a little watery, and a drying in the finish. It is well-hopped as the zest shines through. Very nice session brew. emerica56 (497), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA Oct 3, 2008 Pours a thin white head with a cloudy orange amber color. The nose is nice and floral with hints of pine and caramel. The flavor initially is nice and bitter and hits your palate really hard. but after you finish the sip the flavor dies rather quick and the finish is somewhat watery. Overall it is a good brew and has a nice bitterness that sticks for a while but the full flavor dies after you sip it.
