Draught at Square One. Pours hazy tawny with an average, fizzy, off-white head, mostly diminishing with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, caramel, toffee), average hops (herbs, grass), average yeast (dough, earth) with notes of date and pear. Light bodied, thin texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and bitterness.

On tap - was a deep amber in color with an offwhite head. Had a sweet aroma of chocolate. Had a slight spice in the flavor and a nice balanced finish.

On tap at Square One. Poured a hazy, deeper ambery-brown with a well-retained cap of creamy beige head. The aroma was of soft caramel and chocolatey sweetness with very little hop of wheat presence.. quite pleasant! Flavor found semi-sweet chocolate and caramel a the core with the wheat present as tart banana-ey notes.. left a mild sourness and tartness along with the caramel and chocolate at the finish.. tasty. Medium-bodied with nice balance, but a bit too grainy at the back.

Sample at the brewpub: Dark amber color with a medium and fluffy ivory head that diminishes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Fruity malt aroma with floral hops here and there. Medium body with a clean mouthfeel. Sweet fruit, malt and mild spice flavors. The finish is sweet toasted malt with more sweet spice. Overall this beer is kind of a one-trick pony, yet a passable drink.
