Strykzone (1070), Wood River, Illinois, USA Sep 10, 2008 Clear golden appearance with a nice white head. Smooth feel. Some subtle hop and malt notes. Unfortunately they were overly subtle. On this beer Square One took the "Light" a little too far. BeerandBlues2 (2623), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Jul 22, 2008 Draught at Square One. Pours clear light yellow with a small, fizzy, white head, mostly diminishing with fair lacing. Aroma is average malt (grain, hay, meal), light hops (flowers), average yeast (sweat) with notes of dust and chalk. Light bodied, slick texture, soft carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, light sweetness, acidity, and bitterness. rederic (1507), montréal, Quebec, Canada Apr 17, 2008 On tap at the brewery, slightly cloudy gold hue with a ring of white head, weak pale malt and floral hop nose, with some hint of citrus fruits in the aroma follows through on a light-bodied palate with a crip, faint sweet pale malt character, with a subtle flowery hop citrusy accent, leading towards a zesty, mellow lingering hop biterness finish. Truly a beer for the noninitiated to the world of tasty beer. SubstanceT (1087), Saint Louis, Missouri, USA Nov 4, 2007 Rating 1073, on tap at the brewery. Poured a light colored yellow with a fair ammount of carbonation. Skinny in nose and in taste. Hops just a bit as compared to their pilsner and more malty in character than their other brews. Pleasant to drink and really more palatable for those that like the american standards than their pilsner. Just a suggestion. Ughsmash (3148), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Aug 30, 2007 On tap at Square One. Poured clear bright golden with a short cap of white head. Aroma was light with bready and pale malt notes.. bit of cardboard and a mild sweetness to it, too. Flavor was light again with pale malts and mild grainy bitterness (floral if there was any flavor to it).. not much going on. Light-bodied and tacky on the palate at all points.. left a chalky feel at the finish.. medium carbonation.
