Commercial Description:
The absolute top quality in the hierarchy of the St. Bernardus beers. It is also the beer with the highest alcohol content (10.50 %). A dark ivory coloured beer with a high fermentation. The show piece of the brewery. Thanks to its soft and unconditionally genuine aroma, the beer can be smoothly tasted. The Abt has a very fruity flavour.

11.2 oz bottle. Aroma is faint, Belgian, slightly sugary; aroma is much stronger in my second Trappist glass--it opens up considerably. Pours ruby red with a lasting dissipating head, perfect lacing. Flavor is top of the line Belgian. A little woody, strong alcohol presence. Has that awesome Belgian aftertaste that I can never describe with mere words. Overall, one of the best Belgian brews I’ve ever had.

Opaque brown with a minimal white head and slight lacing. Smells of hay, alcohol and some resin. medium sweetness, light bitterness. light body long finish. Not something I’d seek out.

750->Trappist glass: Pours a huge, frothy, brown head atop a dark brown body. Aroma aroma with some cereal and milk mixed in. Medium bodied, good carbonation, and a creamy metallic mouthfeel. Moderately sweet in taste and lightly bitter. A truly great beer!

This was a great experience for me. I had it on tap at my local bier garden. Poured a chocolatey brown and red color. Very dense. Smell reminded me of a farm for some reason, sort of barnyardish. Taste was very earthy and sweet to me. Best beer I’ve had.

Wow! I think I’ve had other St. Bernies before, but this one is a whole different universe. A full-bodied, fruity cornucopia of flavor. Quite a bit cheaper than Rochefort 10, I’d like to compare them side by side.

Pours a reddish brown color with a bubbly off-white head. Nice candy and fruit aroma. Flavors are apple, caramel, sugar, and spice. Nicely carbonated, excellent beer.

Bottle 33cl. Pours a murky brown colour with a good size head and good carbonation. Very strong aroma of chocolate, fruits and roasted malt, great balance. Taste is excellent, lovely balanced fruits and malts and goes down with a lovely bit of warmth. Great beer!

Bottle 750ml. Amazing. Aromas of burnt malt, caramel, apple, and alcohol. Flavour is long-lasting, with sweet and bitter notes playing beautifully. Palate is creamy, and full-bodied. Brown colour, with a creamy long-lasting head.
