beerheart (232), Erie, Colorado, USA Nov 30, 2008 I began to try gueuze’s a year ago. Had this in a bottle at Brasserie Beck in DC. Pours a light, hazy orange-yellow. Aroma of grass and straw. Light fruit flavors, pears, lemon, grapefruit. A bit watery. bhensonb (3129), Woodland, California, USA Nov 28, 2008 Capped bottle (330) from Marcus. Hazy apricot color with a frothy (small bubbles) off-white head. Aroma sizzles the nose with sour and citrus. Medium body with near creamy carbonation. It’s a bit acetic, quite astringent, a little citrus, some ripe light stone fruit. It finishes out with funk. Not strong funk. Mellow, delicious funk. Mouth smacking. DSG (994), Yuvalim, Israel Nov 27, 2008 Updated: Nov 29, 2008(10/10/08) Bottle drank in my hostel room in Chicago. Hazy orange color with medium, quickly-diminishing, off-white head. A rather funky aroma with some faint leather hints, a bit of barnyard and some citric touches. Sourish flavor with some slightly sugary sweetness, brett, some lemon and a bit of grapefruit. Medium-bodied with lively carbonation, but maybe a tad watery. Not bad. Really is quite traditional even if a bit on the soft side. slimchill (694), Austin, Texas, USA Nov 20, 2008 Bottle. Strawberry, peach, and grapefruit aromas with musk and raspberry. Cloudy light orange with thick head. Great lacing. Very tart, reserved with good depth and fruit in the finish (tart cherry and raspberry). Nice body with surprising depth. marcus (1116), Sacramento, California, USA Oct 27, 2008 Pours a golden color with a nice off-white head and a strong fruity aroma. Moderately tart and carbonated with various citrus flavors and a very dry finish. This is a nice traditional gueuze.
