tlind2 (342), Helsinki, Finland Jul 8, 2008 Draught @ Kallion Poirotti, Helsinki. Deep golden color, rocky white head. Sweet, malty aroma. Crisp taste with some caramel and a reasonably sweet finish. Not bad at all.
Early reviewers may be interested to know that Stallhagen recently recruited Tom Skog from the now defunct Stadin Panimo. Apparently Tom has been making subtle adjustments to the existing Stallhagen beers. This certainly seemed a step up from a bottle I sampled a while back. Papsoe (11030), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 14, 2008 (Bottle 33 cl) Clear golden with a rough, white head. Sweetish malty, lightly oxidized aroma. Medium body, sweetish malty with a little caramel and overripe fruit. Subdued bitterness. No way near a Bohemian Pils. 080408 KimJohansen (4298), Copenhagen V, Denmark Apr 10, 2008 Clear amber with tiny head. Sweet aroma with caramel and malty notes. Sweet flavor with caramel toasted malt and hoppy notes. Ends slightly bitter. yespr (7777), Copenhagen O, Denmark Apr 9, 2008 33 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden yellow with a fully diminished head. Light orange and citrus fruity hops aroma. Flavour is mild fruity and malty with a dry note of corn and cardboard. Ends with a medium sweetness. Fin (2451), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Mar 17, 2008 Bottle passed onto me by Fatphil at Zythos 08 Cheers Phil Pours a warm golden colour, as flat as a pancake hardly any carbonation at all which rather surprised me. Some sweet malts and alcohol, bit metallicy, reasonable hops and the bitterness struggling to counteract the sweetness. Not too bad.
